Prologue to the next great story

I am posting this part of the story to hopefully  entice you into coming back to read more of what i will hopefully be writing. I know I just need to keep on track and write a little bit each day, which I will be doing behind the scene of all the posts that I will be posting. The following is the prologue that i will be putting in the beginning. I will also hopefully also be able to upload pictures if I can get my friend on deviantart to draw them. *fingers are crossed* The only issue i see is finding the time each day to write out a little of the Information and story itself. So wish me Luck. (I could use it)

The people of Terand have for thousands of years lived and communed with nature in order to establish a sense of balance with it. By doing so they have advanced far beyond any science fiction movie could ever have hoped that the people of our own world might in a hundred years. The people of Terand have learned to work with what they call the Arkane, an energy that allows them to perform feats that we could only think of as magic to our untrained minds.
Terand is a parallel world to our own. The people there have come to call our world (which they visit frequently) Mandor which in their ancient dialect simply means ‘silenced’, as they have come to realize that only the truly gifted of their own can cross to our world and hold on to even the slightest of their Arkanic abilities.
The history of Terand’s civilization has been passed down from generation to generation first by word of mouth and then later was written down by the Elders of Nature and placed in the Temple of Adon, where it is often referred to by the Elders and their students during lessons. The stories told from the archives could easily be passed for myth if you had never seen the actual results of the stories for yourself.
‘It is said that in the beginning the being know as Adon came to our tiny corner of the cosmos. There he found a large amount of earthen debris. Adon used this debris to create the world of Terand and the creatures that inhabit it. His tears of joy became the waterways of the world and the air that escaped him while he laughed became the wind.
‘ It is said that Adon, creator of the world of Terand, would watch over the creatures patiently as they grew and lived their lives and then passed along, But he noticed that when this happened, the creatures of his world became saddened. Even though he could see the souls of the departed and knew they weren’t truly gone, his beloved creations could not and it made him sad to see this happen over and over. So he took a form that his creations would not fear and descended among them to explain to them that their loved ones were not really gone just on another plane of existence. The creatures of Terand could not understand how this could be so, so Adon placed inside each of his creations a little piece of himself, allowing his creatures to ‘see’ or feel the presence of their loved ones that had moved beyond sight. The people rejoiced at this and began to praise Adon, calling him a God.
‘It pleased Adon how thankful his people were for the gift and he decided to let them keep the ability. He even added to the ability allowing his people to bend the world he had created to fit their needs as they evolved and grew and populated.
‘However, there were a few that were selfish and brash, and no matter how kind Adon was to them, no matter what he did or how he loved them, they were not thankful, they began to pollute the environment and Arkanic surroundings and this did not please Adon so he opened a rift in the fabric of the world and created a parallel world, very similar to Terand, but in this world it was very difficult to use the abilities that he had given to his creatures, to this world he regrettably sent the ingrates of his people.
‘As the years and generations went on, Adon noticed that, in some of the families that began to grow, the power that he had given to his people was somehow stronger than with other clans. Afraid that he would once again have to send away more of his people permanently, he called his people together and spoke with them.
‘”My adored people’ he said, ‘I have noticed that many of you have come to harness the power I have gifted you with very well, but I am uneasy, many of you have heard of the other world to which I was forced to send some of your brothers and sisters, they were sent there in order to think of the things that they were given but were ungrateful for, as you grow in power, I fear that some of you may start to think that you have nothing to be thankful for. So in order for all to continue obtaining the Arkane as you call it I ask for a pact with you,
‘”Do not fear my people, I love you all, and as long as I am here no harm will befall you. All I ask is that each generation, when your children are of age you send your most Arkaniclly powerful of that generation to the other side of the gate that I have created between the two worlds. There they will stay for one year’s time so that they may fully appreciate the life that they have here.’
‘”I only ask this of you so that as time progresses, I do not want to have to send any more of you to the other world permanently.’
‘So the people of Terand agreed with hope for the generations to come that each generation would learn to harness their Arkane with love for the one being that gave it to them.
‘As the years went by many people were sent to the other world through the Gate of Adon, and all that chose to return did so with a new appreciation of the gift that Adon had given them. However, as more people were becoming more powerful in the use of the Arkane, many began to covet the power that they had as well as finding ways to absorb the Arkane of those around them. These became know as the Hagarred Ones. As they began to grow in number, war broke out in many of the kingdoms that had been built up in the earlier millennia. Tyrants began to gain power and Adon did not like this.
‘Adon rose up to these tyrants and Hagarred ones but as they had kept there numbers a secret, he did not truly know what he was up against. Adon fought for the freedom of his beloved people for a long time, and began to grow weakened. Just when He thought that the fight was won, The Hagarred Ones pulled out there trump.
‘Many eons before, Adon had been part on a group of beings known to themselves as the Argents, Beings that often would pass the time by making life in the cosmos. One of them however, Xytos, was the Argent of death and darkness. He was often at war with at least one of the Argents and had followed Adon to his quiet corner of the cosmos, intent on destroying what he had created.
‘In his weakened state, Adon was no match for Xytos alone and Xytos fed on the dark emotions of his followers to gain more power over him. Adon fought with more vigor and love than he had ever done before. It was not only His existence on the line here but the lives of the people he had created as well.
‘As the fight continued, the gate of Adon was opened and the most recent generation to leave Terand returned from the other world, and their Arkane returned to them. So great was their power that Adon was able to defeat Xytos and lock him away, along with his followers. Shortly after this was done He collapsed.
His loyal people came to him from all over Terand to lend him the power he had given them ages ago, but he refused saying that he loved them too much to let them. Instead he used the rest of his strength and life force to make sure that his people would be able to protect themselves if the need should arise. With the last beat of his heart he sent out a message to his brethren asking them to watch over Xytos and his followers so that he would not be able to escape. Amonia, His closest friend among the Argents called back to him but it was too late, Adon was gone.
‘She went to where Terand was, and spoke with the people. They told her of the fight and asked her to help them restore him. As one they offered up all their Arkane but it was not enough, so Amonia reached out to the Argents of the other plane and asked them to help her revive him as he was much loved by his people. They agreed to do so but he would only be able to be awake during times of need and only the chosen of his people would be able to call to him. Amonia chose a symbol that would appear at random on a person at their time of birth, it was Adon's symbol; a bird surrounded by a star. During the reign of the current chosen, the next would be born so that the cycle could not be broken and a chosen would always be around in case of the escape of Xytos and his followers.
‘As all this was happening Amonia had been watching the people of Terand and had grown fond of them, but as she had her own worlds that needed watching she gave to the chosen a panpipe, as was her musical symbol. The chosen need only play three notes and she would hear it and come in an instant. This was in case there was a problem that needed a ruling that the people did not feel comfortable passing themselves. With that she left blessing the war torn land causing it to grow fresh and abundant for the people that had so loved her dear friend.
‘As the years passed, history became legend and elders began to tell stories of the beings that were now being passed from books that had been written shortly after the Great War. People however did continue to send their strongest people to the other world that by then had become know as Mandor, or the silenced world, so that their youth would continue to learn to appreciate the gift that they had. However few except the chosen ones knew the truth and it was through them that Adon remained kept after in a shrine better than any king in Terand would see in his lifetime. Offerings were often left on an Alter for the Beings of the Other Plane in hopes that they would allow him to awaken and join in the world with them again. But even though the offerings would disappear the prayer was never answered. And still his people wait….
Any way if you could all just comment I'd love you for it <3
